Dyer in at Chico#039;s FAS

Fort Myers, Fla.–based Chico’s FAS Inc. named David F. Dyer president and chief executive officer of the retail chain. Dyer has served as president and chief executive officer of both Tommy Hilfiger and Lands’ End, and his long career includes stints at J. Crew, the Home Shopping Network and Burdines department stores. At Chico’s, he succeeds Scott A. Edmonds, who is retiring from the company and the board. Chico’s lead director of the board, Ross E. Roeder, has been named non-executive chairman of the board. In other Chico’s news, the company reported a 10 percent decline in new sales in December and a 12.4 percent decrease in comp-store sales for the same period. The company operates 1,080 stores in 49 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Its retail nameplates include Chico’s, White House | Black Market and Soma Intimates.
