MySpace Unveils New Fashion Features

Social-networking site MySpace is reworking the style angle with its revamped fashion page.

The new page puts the spotlight on both fresh-faced and influential designers and news culled from various style resources and blogs. The page also features beauty tips and interviews with boutique retailers such as Maren Roth of Rowe, based in Columbus, Ohio.

It also offers exclusive discount codes to e-tail sites such as RevolveClothing.com.

The fashion page also highlights “The Fit,” MySpace’s magazine-style video blog featuring designers and celebrities. The latest episode follows pop artist Lady Gaga on a shopping trip to her favorite vintage stores in Los Angeles.

One of MySpace’s first forays into fashion was rolling out a fashion news blog in 2007. It’s possible for MySpace to do for fashion designers what it has done for bands and musicians—by broadcasting up-and-coming design talent.
