Burma Ban

The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) is calling on Congress to renew the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act of 2003, the import ban on Burmese goods that is set to expire. The Washington, D.C.–based trade association recently sent letters to Congress urging renewal “because it will send a clear and unmistakable message that the United States is not interested in doing business with regimes like the one that brutally enslaves the people of Burma,” the country now called Myanmar. The letters can be found at www.apparelandfootwear.org.
