Kellwood Bankrupt?

Kellwood Co.—one of the nation’s largest apparel suppliers and owner of brands such as Vince, David Meister, Sag Harbor and Koret—may declare bankruptcy after negotiations with its bondholders failed to result in an agreement over an$140 million bond issue that matures July 22. The St. Louis–based apparel giant had tried and failed to defer the bond payment with a bond swap, the Wall Street Journal reported. Deutsche Bank AG, the largest bondholder, declined the deal and isn’t expected to renegotiate. In 2008, Kellwood was taken private by Sun Capital Partners.
