Billabong Gets PLM From NGC

Surf brand Billabong International Ltd. is jumping on the PLM bandwagon, enlisting New Generation Computing’s e-PLM and e-SPS products.

PLM (product lifecycle management) is expected to help the company streamline its pre-production process by providing a central point of information for all specs, materials and processes. NGC’s e-SPS will help it manage sourcing.

Mike Savage, general manager of product development, said the company chose NGC because of NGC’s strong background in the apparel industry as well as the product’s scalability and functionality.

Billabong markets and distributes apparel, accessories, eyewear, wetsuits and hardgoods under the Billabong, Element, Von Zipper, Honolua Surf Co., Kustom, Palmers Surf, Nixon, Xcel, Tigerlily, Sector 9 and DaKine brands. —Robert McAllister
