YMI Plans Licensing

Los Angeles–based juniors denim brand YMI Jeanswear has launched a licensing division and is seeking partnerships with companies to put the YMI brand on other fashion products.

The company recently hired former Dollhouse marketing executive Deke Jamieson as its executive vice president of licensing.

“We are being extremely selective with regard to licensing our brand and are planning to partner with companies who share our obsession with quality and service. We look forward to expanding our offerings to our dedicated and growing consumer base,” said company president David Vered, who added that the YMI is already in discussions with prospective licensing partners.

Jamieson said the company is targeting activewear, fashion tops, dresses, footwear, handbags and other accessories.
