Grey Debuts in Stylish Sunset Junction

Grey boutique, located in Sunset Junction

There’s a new fashion store with a rock ’n’ roll edge in Los Angeles’ bohemian Sunset Junction neighborhood. Grey, a boutique at 3908 Sunset Blvd., held a debut party on July 26, and co-owner Allison Burns said the store will appeal to many people’s inner rocker. It will offer accessories such as flowers made out of zippers, silver safety-pin earrings and candles shaped like skulls. The art hanging on the wall also has a rock edge. They were created by Maria Penn, whose work graced the cover of 1984 Siouxsie The Banshee’s album Hyaena.

Grey shares space with veteran Sunset Junction boutique Pull My Daisy. Grey co-owner Caprice Gray said her store would focus on accessories. “It’s where people are willing to take risks now,” Gray said. Burns’ self-named line of handmade accessories would be sold at the store along with other gift brands such as D.L. Co. and works of Silverlake artisans. The co-owners also worked as makeup artists; they plan to eventually start a Grey brand of accessories and other items.
