Bond, Bulletproof James Bond

I don’t know any guys who find the need to duck bullets while in black tie, but I guess that is a real worry for some—and now those select few are in luck. According to a press release that just landed in my inbox, everyday Joe Schmoes with, ahem, alternative employment can be as dapper and impervious to bullets as James Bond.

Miguel Caballero, a Colombian manufacturer known for “fusing bulletproof technology and fashion” will soon be making its “distinctly chic yet discreetly armored designs” available to American consumers. New headquarters in Miami, which the release said is perfect for its “connections with Latin America and its reputation as an entry point for domestic and international travelers,” and an e-tail site will give dudes living on the edge access to anything from a bulletproof tuxedo shirt or breezy polo shirt to Italian leather jackets and a dapper trench coat.

“The garments incorporate into their design the use of guns, radios and other weaponry with multifunctional pockets and adaptable carriers to meet the demands of missions in different environments,” the release said. That sounds pretty hardcore, but I guess if it means more men will dress up like Mr. Bond, I’m okay with it.

According to the Miguel Caballero site, their garments provide stylish protection against these guns. Yikes!
