Gerber Unveils New WebPDM

Tolland, Conn.–based Gerber Technology released version 6.0 of its WebPDM software module, which is designed to facilitate the creation of tech packs, or the blueprints of a production order. Because it is browser-based, it is also used to communicate with employees, customers, vendors and suppliers.

New features of 6.0 include a “Linked Pages and Folders” tool that provides for a one-time entry of specs throughout multiple style iterations, said Gerber’s Elizabeth King.

“Global participants can easily and effectively organize and create content while taking advantage of enhanced functionality such as the BOM staging area promoting implementation and collaboration on the most important product components,” she said.

The new version also connects to other Gerber products such as its AccuMark pattern-making software. —Robert McAllister
