Quiksilver Denim, Engineered for Skaters

Huntington Beach, Calif.–based Quiksilver has handed over the design reins to professional skaters Reese Forbes, Alex Olson and Danny Garcia for a collection of denim engineered for skaters. The three signature styles in the line are made from Dupont’s Coolmax denim, which has stretch and moisture-wicking properties. The result is comfortable jeans that are flexible and dry quickly.

Forbes is no newbie to denim design, having designed several well-received styles for Quiksilver’s skate customers. His signature jean features a regular fit, reinforced back hems and heavy thread. Olson’s jean features a regular fit reinforced with heavy thread, bar tacks and rubber-coated buttons. A contoured waistband and crotch gusset give the wearer extra mobility. Garcia’s denim features a straight fit and the added benefit of a hidden back coin pocket to hold an iPod. The jeans will sell for $75 retail at Quiksilver’s online store and in core retailers. —Erin Barajas
