Tweeting the Latest on CPSIA

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act—or CPSIA—has been a hot-button industry issue that threatens to impact the childrenswear side of the apparel industry.

Childrenswear makers have been closely following the latest on the CPSIA since it was introduced last year.

Now—thanks to the American Apparel Footwear Association—they can follow it even more closely.

The AAFA will be Tweeting live from the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation hearing tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. (East Coast time).

On the agenda: the nomination of Inez M. Tenenbaum for chairperson of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the organization that implemented the CPSIA.

According to the AAFA, if Tenenbaum makes any comments indicating how she plans to implement the CPSIA, AAPA’s Twitter followers will hear it immediately.

“One of the most vibrant discussions to play out in the online community over the past year revolves around product safety,” said AAFA President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin M. Burke. “Because AAFA is the leading source of helpful information on product safety for our industry, it only makes sense to provide this great information via Twitter to our members.”
