New Resources Guide: Di Lascia's Bakery

Patrick Di Lascia found inspiration for his new men’s line, Di Lascia’s Bakery, in the upstate New York bakery founded by his grandfather.

Di Lascia, co-owner of the Los Angeles–based Youngblood showroom, created 12-ounce twill button-fly pants in three fits named for bakery employees: the “Newman” (straight-leg), the “Milton” (skinny fit) and the “Donato” (boot-cut). They come in two washes (the two-year and the heavily distressed five-year wash) and three colors (tan, olive and warm blue). Gingham trim lines the waistband and pockets.

The line also includes T-shirts bearing graphics inspired by bakery ads from the 1940s and ’50s. A logo hoodie features a zippered hood and comes in blue, red and green.

“The line is happy and easy to wear. It reminds me of a time when things weren’t so complicated,” Di Lascia said.

Tees and pants come packaged in bakery and pie boxes. The story behind the line appears under the word “ingredients,” and size, fit and wash information is listed under the words “nutritional facts.”

The collection has been picked up by Kitson, Planet Funk and Sy Devore in California, and In-Jean-ious in San Francisco, Aces and Eights in Las Vegas and several stores in Canada, England and Japan. —Alison A. Nieder
