Slow Go

Cargo container traffic at the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach saw sharp drops in February because of declining consumer demand and the tough economy. In Los Angeles, inbound traffic was down 35 percent to 206,034 containers. Outbound traffic slipped 28 percent to 111,595 containers. At the Port of Long Beach, inbound traffic dipped 43.3 percent to 149,299 containers, and outbound traffic dropped 37 percent to 92,781 containers. February is traditionally the slowest shipping month of the season.
