L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2010: David Alexander

Designer David Alexander had short, shiny and shoulder pads on the brain when he designed his Spring 2010 collection, which showed Oct. 14 during the Fashion on Broadway event at The Los Angeles Theatre. Often, all three themes appeared on a single garment. Another popular detail: snake. Found on skirts, blouses and dresses, snake print proved to be Alexander’s go-to accent. Other popular accents that found themselves very welcome on Alexander’s party dresses: gold and sequins. One particular dress—a simple floor-length number that resembled a long, slinky T-shirt dress with elbow-length sleeves and laden with black sequins—proved to be a crowd favorite.—Erin Barajas
