All-Black Entrance

Azature and Sophie Monk in Sydney, Australia

Los Angeles–based jewelry designer Azature recently headed off on a six-city world with stops in Saudi Arabia, London and Moscow planned. The trip includes several private events, a desert photo shoot and a party at Harvey Nichols in Saudi Arabia. Since we couldn’t tag along (surely he needs help carring all those black diamonds?), we asked him to blog about his trip—which he’s calling “The Black Glove tour.”Sydney is the second city after Moscow for my Black Glove World Tour.

After a very long fourteen hour flight I arrived in Sydney with my two hosts, world renowned hairstylist and makeup artist Glenn Nutley and actress and singer Sophie Monk.

After being bombarded with paparazzi upon our arrival, we had to be rushed into an all-black tinted-window car—supposedly that is rare in Australia, but I managed to find one.

Immediately after arriving to our hotel, I had to review all the arrangements that have been made for the exclusive dinner party for 30. Of course, the hotel has a very dark, black motif.... The exclusive dinner party will be held in Aria restaurant (meal prepared by the most famous chef in Australia, Matt Moran), overlooking the world-famous Opera House in Sydney, with everything black—including decor and dress code. The guest list includes all the top fashion editors, socialites, stylemakers, movers and shakers of Australia.

The next day, Sophie Monk, did a radio show (the host is the Ryan Seacrest of Australia) and gave a shout out to AZATURE black diamond chocolates on air and gave away a box of chocolates. After many private appointments and lots of preparation for the main event, the day is finally here.

My all-black doubled-breasted suit is ready, and it is almost close to showtime.

Lights, camera, action.....
