Alina Jeans launched during the Sept. 1–3 run of the Project Global Trade show in Las Vegas with its “Dirty Summer 2010” collection. The denim line is inspired by Venice Beach, the home of creative director Alina Stefanescu and is aimed at sexy, independent women. All of the premium denim is from Italy, and each pair is made in downtown Los Angeles with top manufacturers and laundries in the industry. Stefanescu describes the look as, “This is a collection you could be shipwrecked in and still look sexy. Lots of distressing, gorgeous bleaches and a ’dirty’ feel.” The company supports GUTS, a program aimed at empowering at-risk girls in the Southern California region.
