MAGIC Launches New Footwear Section

The MAGIC Marketplace has announced the addition of FN Platform, a footwear-focused section that will debut during the trade show giant’s February 2010 edition. A joint venture between MAGIC Marketplace parent company Advanstar Communications, Fairchild Fashion Group and Footwear News, FN Platform will feature men’s, women’s and children’s footwear.

According to a release from the MAGIC Marketplace, the biannual Las Vegas trade show already offers more than 600 footwear brands. FN Platform will expand on those existing vendors and offer a range of new programs, including networking events and seminars.

“We saw an opportunity to expand our existing footwear presence with FN Platform by providing footwear brands and buyers the opportunity to grow and prosper in an environment that suits their needs like no other show can,” said Chris DeMoulin, president of MAGIC International and executive vice president of Advanstar Fashion Group, in a statement.

Leslie Gallin—former director of the World Shoe Association’s designer and luxury mini-show, The Collections at WSA—will head up the show as vice president of footwear for Advanstar’s Fashion Group.

“Leslie’s creativity, experience and network will bring great resources, brands and vitality to FN Platform—further enabling our attendees to maximize their time and resources,” DeMoulin said.

FN Platform will debut Feb. 16–18. For more information on the MAGIC Marketplace, visit www.magiconline.com. —Erin Barajas
