Laguna Beach Jean Co., founded by Steve and Christine Kim in 2007, has translated its Orange County–inspired style of rhinestone-studded and fleur-de-lis–adorned denim into sexy swimwear.
The company opened a new showroom in the Gerry Building to showcase the swimwear, produced under license by Vivo Chaouat, who previously worked in licensing for Ed Hardy.
The appearance of the denim line is printed onto the swimwear—literally. One bikini boyshort bottom is printed to look like denim shorts and features a side-tie bikini peeking out the top. A triangle top is printed with denim flap pockets. Wholesale price points range from $36 to $55. The prices jump up to $250 for a Swarovski crystal–covered swimsuit that is sold in a special collectable box.—Rhea Cortado
