L.A. Fashion Week Spring 2010: Jerell Scott

For Jerell Scott, glitz and comfort do not have to be opposites. In his 26-look runway show for his Spring 2010 collection, the “Project Runway” alum created a look that could both be fabulous and easy to wear.

The show was held Oct. 14 at Downtown L.A. Fashion Week at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.

The foundations of the collection were silks, yarns and velvets. The glitz was supplied by details such as bits of crystal abalone shell, leather shoulder pads and crucifixes.

For comfort, he created some maxi-dresses and cocktail dresses, which allowed for a great flow of movement. Also in the collection’s mix were high-waisted shorts and palazzo pants.—Andrew Asch
