BlueCherry Launches Infinity

New York–based Computer Generated Solutions introduced a new version of its BlueCherry PLM (product lifecycle management) solution that combines several applications and runs on the Microsoft .NEW framework.

BlueCherry Infinity integrates apparel-, footwear- and accessories-specific ERP (enterprise resource planning), SCM (supply chain management), WMS (warehouse management software), PLM, sourcing and BI in a modular suite of Web-based applications. Infinity’s applications span from planning and design through specs management and sourcing, integrating collaboration, workflow, and time-and-action management.

The software was designed on the Microsoft .NET framework, including its Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation extensions.

BlueCherry recently landed a “positive” rating from Gartner in the industry-analyst firm’s September MarketScope for PLM in Apparel, Footwear and Accessories report. Gartner’s report evaluates products based on “market understanding, customer experience, offering [product] strategy, business model, operations and overall viability.”

In evaluating PLM solutions, the Gartner report said, “For [apparel, footwear and accessories] organizations driven by shortening product life cycles, faster time to market and more rapid identification of products not performing, PLM and sourcing solutions are key requirements to manage increasing risk in new product launches, produce tighter forecasts of sales by line, address increased pressures to make the right decisions, and use offshore sourcing to keep costs low.” The report also noted that “Enterprise integration continues to be a key element in successful implementations. Tight integration among PLM, sourcing and ERP systems is important to ensure cost-effective execution of the product designs and plans.” For more information, visit www.cgsinc.com.—Alison A. Nieder
