Nilit Revamps Online

Israel-based fiber maker Nilit Ltd. launched a new Web site, created to showcase the company’s products, including its latest nylon 6.6 innovations.

In addition to a company history and timeline and information about the staff, the Nilit Web site directs visitors to more information about its fiber and plastics businesses. In the fiber section, there is a photo gallery of finished products, information about events, the company’s environmental responsibility efforts and certifications, and product information about Nilit’s brands, including Tactel, Supplex and Cordura, which are Invista trademarks used under license to Nilit for nylon fabric products.Nylon 6.6 is a premium nylon fiber with greater strength, elasticity and durability characteristics than other nylon fibers.

Nylon 6.6 is often used for interior fabrics, but it also has apparel applications, such as bodywear, activewear, legwear and intimate apparel.

Last year, Nilit opened a yarn facility in Suzhou, located in China’s Jiangsu province, which is currently running at full capacity, according to the company. Founded in 1969, Nilit specializes in the manufacturing of nylon 6.6 and has been on a global expansion effort. Earlier this year, the company acquired the U.S. operations of European fiber-and-chemical company Nylstar, which included Nylstar’s nylon 6.6 plant in Martinsville, Va. The company also has yarn-production facilities in Israel and Germany.
