Stylesight Partners With Itochu

New York–based trend-forecasting service Stylesight has struck an exclusive sales and marketing deal with Itochu Fashion System Co. Ltd., the strategic design arm of Japanese giant Itochu Corp.

The two companies will launch a Japanese-language suite of Stylesight products in January.

In addition, IFS will “regionalize” Stylesight’s brand message for the Japanese market and serve as the point of contact for promoting the Stylesight brand in Japan. In addition, IFS will provide customer support and training and conduct trend seminars and presentations for the Japanese market.

“Itochu Fashion System hellip; has been recognized as an authority on style and fashion in Japan for years,” said Frank Bober, founder and chief executive officer of Stylesight. “Together, we will break new ground in providing fashion information, technology and expertise for the Japanese manufacturer and retailers. The best part is that the entire Stylesight offering will be available in the Japanese language. This is just the beginning of the services we will provide together.”

IFS provides a range of services for its clients, including strategic planning, brand and product development, fashion market intelligence, business alliances and negotiations, Web site and e-commerce development, brand sourcing, and overseas communications.

Founded in 1858, Itochu Corp. started as a linen-trading operation and has grown to include the import and export of many products, including textiles, machinery, information and communications-related products, metals, energy sources, general merchandise, chemicals, and provisions and food. In addition, the company has investments in insurance, finance, construction, real estate and warehousing.
