'Fashion: Refocus' Kicks Off at BOXeight

FACTORY by Erik Hart

BOXeight, Flaunt Magazine and L.A. Models kicked off “Fashion: Refocus,” last night at the BOXeight Warehouse in downtown Los Angeles. It was a merging of art and fashion as designers presented Spring 2010 looks with live photo installations. Photographers, hair stylists, makeup artists and stylists utilized their collective creative energy to shoot some of the city's top design talent.

Press and industry insiders got a behind-the-scenes look into the creation of a photo shoot. Each designer created a set with props such as neon lights, cords and enormous afro wigs to translate the creative vision of their collection into “editorial” imagery. Collaborations included Louver by Louis Verdad shot by Don Flood; Lloyd Klein shot by Luke Duval; Rami Kashou by Garret Suhrie; FACTORY by Erik Hart shot by Ben Cope; and Corpus shot by Patrick Hoelck.

Each collection will be featured in a special edition booklet published by Flaunt and BOXeight. The booklet will be sent out with Flaunt’s Nov. issue to its 800,000 readers in 32 countries around the world.

Following the evening’s events, guests enjoyed an after-party with tunes by Jeffrey Sebelia’s band Sing Orpheus.

The event continues tonight and tomorrow. Tonight’s line-up includes Jeffrey Sebelia shot by Kurt Iswarienko; Skingraft shot by Gitte Meldgaard; SECTA shot by Peter Gurnz and Orthodox shot by Lionel Deluy. For more information go to BOXeight.com.
