Relaxing at Robertson: Ted Baker's casual Born line at the label's Robertson boutique
Is it the start of Casual Fridays at UK label Ted Baker?
The label, best known for its traditional suits and shirts with an irreverent twist, recently debuted its casual label, dubbed Born. I saw this diffusion line at the Ted Baker Los Angeles store at 131 N. Robertson Blvd. It offered hoodies, polos and T-shirts for retail price points, which ranged from $60 to $175.
The line looked good for weekends and perhaps Casual Fridays, yet fortunately for Ted Baker purists, snappy suits such as its Kier style will continue to be among its big-selling items, said Joni Kilmurry, a spokesperson for Ted Baker.
The UK label continues to be on the move in America too. In October, it will open a boutique in Boston. In August 2010, it will open another California boutique at Santa Monica Place retail center. This Macerich-owned mall will debut in Santa Monica, Calif., next year. The Ted Baker shop on Robertson Boulevard has been doing business since 2006.
