Downtown LA Fashion Week to Present 'Fashion Angels' Awards

A panel of designers and retailers recently reviewed the applicants for the Emerging Designers show to select who will show at the event on Oct. 14 during Los Angeles Fashion Week and which three designer will receive the first “Fashion Angels” awards, presented by the Department of Cultural Affairs for the City of Los Angeles and Downtown Los Angeles Fashion Week.
Serving as judges were designers Randolph Duke, Nony Tochterman of Petro Zilla, Nick Verreos, “Project Runway” season 3 winner Jeffrey Sebelia, Louis Verdad and Vanessa Gonzalez, a designer and contestant on Bravo’s upcoming reality show “Launch My Line.”
The winners will be announced later this month at a press conference held by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
