's Haute Spot Lands at South Coast Plaza

Teen Vogue’s concept retail store Haute Spot set up shop at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif.

The Haute Spot opened up this past weekend and kicked off the Labor Day holiday with a number of events, including a screening of “The September Issue” documentary and a model casting call sponsored by Urbain Management.

“The purpose of the store is to bring the magazine to life to our consumers in an interactive environment," said Teen Vogue Special Events Director Alison L. Schajer. “There’s a social networking aspect, and we’re bringing the hottest trends to the consumer and getting the products right into their hands.”

The store houses a seemingly clash of styles with surfer-girl brand Roxy by Quiksilver and sneaker giant Nike mingling with luxury labels Gucci and YSL.

The brands carried at Haute Spot are available through retailers found directly in the mall and can also be shopped for at Teen Vogue’s online site Teen Vogue Look Books, according to Schajer.

The West Coast reception to the store has been positive, said Schajer, with a few thousand shoppers stopping by the store.

A full schedule of events can be found here. All of the festivities and the shopping conclude Sept. 27.
