Santa Monica Museum of Art Presents The Halla Gala

“Costume, headdress or mask required.”

Those are the invite instructions for Santa Monica Museum of Art’s Halla Gala fundraiser event on Halloween which encourages guests to dress up as their “secret self—your inner persona or alternate identity.”

If you are alter ego-challenged (with deep pockets), fear not, premium ticket packages include a consultation with featured designers on hand that will help you craft his or her secret self. (Disclaimer: “Fashion fantasies are subject to time and material availability.”)

Featured designers include: Brett Westfall/Unholy Matrimony/Commes des Garcons, Brian Lichtenberg, Edith Palm, Jenni Kayne, Pamela Barish, Scout’s Joey Grana, Society for Rational Dress’ Corinne Grassini and The Row.

Ticket packages start at $350; however tickets that include a one-on-one consultation by one of the featured designers are $10,000 for the “La Dolce Vita” package or $25,000 for the “The Gardeners of Eden” package. Both include on-site portraits of your secret self shot by Leonard Nimoy, who will serve as honarary host with wife Susan Nimoy. On display will be selected works from Nimoy’s upcoming photography exhibition and SMMoA’s current exhibition by Allen Ruppersberg.
