All those bedroom accessories and unmentionables usually kept hidden behind closed doors and talked about in hushed whispers are showcased in grand display at Coco De Mer. On Wednesday night, the luxury erotic boutique gave top billing to lingerie that’s meant to be seen by local designer Carol Malony.

The shopping event was hosted in collaboration with Angeleno magazine to celebrate Malony’s collection that is featured in the “Paris-Los Angeles” exhibit at luxury department store Le Bon Marche in Paris. A petite Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was host of the evening as a personal fan of Carol Malony’s designs.

“It’s so well thought out and intricate. It’s definitely a piece that is a memory and makes you feel confident and sexy,” said Simpson-Wentz, who wore a black Carol Malony bra with a shrunken HM tuxedo jacket and high-waist Catherine Malandrino shorts. Malony added that L.A. girls like Simpson-Wentz (and the way she wore her bra like a top) are her muse. “You’re the person I’m designing for,” Malony said. “She’s natural but sexy, cutting edge but sophisticated.”
