Easy Access and Storage Part of N41's New Look

Easy access is crucial on Nouvolution’s N41 enterprise resource planning software.

The Los Angeles–based software publisher recently debuted the latest user-friendly features in its N41 program. Nouvolution co-founder Kyehon Kim said the new features will offer speedier access to some parts of the software, which he and business partner Indon Chung tailored for apparel-industry users.

One new feature is adding a list of favorite items, such as hard-to-find reports, to the software’s homescreen, Kim said. So instead of having to waste time looking for reports, users can quickly find the reports on a specific favorites menu.

Another new function is a to-do list. The user can take this new feature to assign a task to herself or another N41 user. A scheduling feature comes with the to-do list. If a task is not done by a deadline, the highlights of the to-do list changes color to red.

Another feature is a digital asset-management task, which makes it easier to manage and store documents on the program. Users can upload image files from Microsoft Excel to N41 with one computer keyword. The users also can link any Excel image documents to purchase orders, invoices and style master lists of fashions.

Nouvolution’s user-friendly features were crucial to Los Angeles fashion label Grn Apple Tree choosing the N41 program, said Janet Pulido, the label’s office manager.

“The applications and icons are easy to use. It’s logical. I can get what I need on it,” Pulido said.

Kim also gave a preview of other N41 features that will be published in the near future. One will be a module for sales representatives. On this module, sales reps will be guaranteed privacy. The rep will be able to gain access and browse through invoices previously worked on. Sales colleagues will not have access to them.

Another upcoming feature will be an order-entry program for showrooms and trade shows. “It will eliminate handwriting on sales orders,” Kim said.

Nouvolution publishes new features every quarter. Many times its customers suggest ideas for the new features. Most active clients include top fashion labels XCVI, Prvcywear, True Religion, Plastic Island and Bordeaux.

Last year, California Apparel News reported that Nouvolution’s N41 program goal is to be a one-stop shop for services demanded by its clients. It offers features that handle tasks such as managing ordering processing, costing, accounts receivables and e-commerce.

It also offers a number of embedded tools that allows users to export information in the Microsoft Excel format as well as generate PDF files. Other capabilities offered are direct e-mails and links to Quickbooks and shipping companies FedEx and UPS.—Andrew Asch
