Skate Brand Launches Mobile Warehouse Program

World Industries—a Costa Mesa, Calif.–based skate hardgoods, T-shirt and footwear brand—has announced the debut of a mobile warehouse program. Centered around two custom vans equipped with mobile offices and wireless capabilities and stocked with an assortment of World’s best-selling at-once goods, the “mobile warehouses” will regularly visit skate shops in a test territory of Southern California, Arizona and Southern Nevada. Orders can be fulfilled immediately from the vans.

The high-tech meets low-tech approach will save retailers shipping costs and allow them to more easily and more frequently restock their stores, said John Dickinson, World’s president, in a statement. “The hope is to be able to build this program into a great benefit for our skate retailers and move it into all territories across the U.S. By bringing the product to the shops, we hope to add a little more savings to the retailer, help them increase the frequency in which they update their product offerings and give them better margins on hardgoods,” he said.
