Revolution At Banana Republic

Crowds at South Coast Plaza's Banana Republic Revolution store

An estimated crowd of 800 shoppers stormed South Coast Plaza’s Banana Republic Nov. 4 to see its new Revolution concept store.
The two-story emporium was the site of Banana Republic’s “After 5 Style” event where consumers are treated to champagne gratis as well as a 25 percent discount on all of the store’s wares. Banana Republic is a division of Gap Inc.
The crowd also got to witness the grand unveiling of Banana Republic’s Revolution look, which has been in construction at South Coast Plaza since the summer. In this Revolution, Banana Republic’s various collections are merchandised in different shops-in-shops at this concept store.
There are separate shops for women’s petites, jeans as well as Monogram, Banana Republic’s line of suiting and evening looks for men and women. The shops are connected by a giant aisle, and all roads seem to lead to the store’s Community Plaza which is dominated by a large train clock. To make the space more unique, the emporium’s two levels are joined by a grand staircase.
The South Coast Plaza Banana Republic Revolution was the third in this concept’s roll out. Other Revolution stores are located in Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Ariz, New Jersey, New York’s SoHo neighborhood and Kansas City. In December, a Revolution store will open in Vancouver, British Columbia.
