Beverly Hills Fashion Festival: William Rast

Friday, November 12, 2010

Guests at the William Rast show held during the Beverly Hills Fashion Festival were given a dose of Americana—albeit with a nomadic twist. The collection, which was co-founded by Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala, took inspiration this season from a nomadic biker on a spiritual soul-searching journey across “New America.” And yet the denim and leather-based look is suitable for a hipster living almost anywhere is the world today.

The collection hit many of the key trends for Fall, including military looks, leather biker jackets, vests, plaid and shredded denim. The palette came in military green, black and gray, and many looks were distressed and worn-in.

The bohemian-warrior feel was adorned with hand-crafted embellishments. Styles—such as a gray menswear blazer and military parachute pant—were mixed-and-matched for maximum effect. Some of the best looks included a ruffled leather bustier that topped skintight leggings, a fringed jacket paired with distressed denim jeans and an oversize men’s military overcoat that had unisex appeal.—N.
