Vintage, Hipsters and Style at Fashion's Night Out

The fashion crowd was out in full force for last night’s Fashion’s Night Out in Los Angeles. Vintage lovers, deal hunters and hipsters dressed the part as they scoured the city’s hot spots for cool finds and great parties.

My evening began at the Cooper Design Space in downtown Los Angeles at A Current Affair. A cocktail party kicked off the two-day vintage pop-up event which included some of the top vintage stores and private dealers from Los Angeles and surrounding areas. The event created by Scout’s Joey Grana and vintage dealer Richard Wainwright had a lot of exciting vintage to discover including my favorite find: A Travilla gold-pleated gown almost identical to the dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in “The Seven Year Itch.”

West Hollywood was next. I focused on a few vintage and fashion hot spots – DecadesTwo and Opening Ceremony.

DecadesTwo drew a fashionable crowd with its 400 dresses for $400 or less themed event. A cocktail party, drawings for a $1000 shopping spree from DecadesTwo and Hautelook and a custom dress designed by Ghita’s Alexis Phifer were just a few highlights of the evening.

Opening Ceremony had a blowout shopping event and after-party which ended with revelers chilling in the parking lot of the LaCienega Blvd. store. Hipsters shopped from the boutique’s designer goods and a selection of vintage offerings and sampled pork sliders and pizza. It was a cool scene and definitely a place to see and be seen. See below for a few fashionable looks of the evening.

My last stop was the after-party at Industry, which turned out to be more of a night club dance party than a fashion event. Nevertheless, designers including Kevan Hall, Lloyd Klein, Rami Kashou, Louis Verdad, Maggie Barry, Petro Zillia and Skingraft presented a few key looks from their collections in celebration of the evening’s events.
