Yarn Spinner

Grupo Karim’s, a conglomerate founded in Honduras, has bought the Formosa Spinning plant located just outside San Pedro Sula in Honduras. This will make the plant the only yarn spinner in the country. Group Karim’s expects production to start at the Honduras Spinning Mills some time later this year. The facility has 30,000 spindles to produce 100 percent ring-spun, combed cotton and cotton/poly blend fine count yarns. The new factory will further consolidate Grupo Karim’s yarn supply network in the United States and Asia. The company made the acquisition because there is a high demand for ring-spun yarns in Central America but a low supply.
