Directives West's Fall 2011 Runway Show

Directives West, the West Coast merchandising consulting division of New York–based Doneger Group, held its Fall 2011 presentation April 4 at the California Market Center in Los Angeles. The runway show—which featured Directives West's predictions for the contemporary, juniors and girls’ markets—helped kick off the Majors Market and drew strong attendance.

The show was divided into segments that highlighted the Directives West Fall perspective. Trends, according to the consultant, will include quot;Wild Estate, quot; a mixture of traditional elements such as lace, fur and velvet with more-rustic touches such as chino, plaids and leather; the quot;Modern Enchantmentquot; trend, which will feature a romantic, feminine look spiked with cozy elements such as chunky knits and layers; quot;Seventies Siren, quot; another take on the bohemian, Wild West look, complete with flared jeans, ponchos, fringe, long skirts and earthy prints; and quot;Cold Front, quot; which draws inspiration from minimal, clean silhouettes but adds warmth in the form of sweater leggings and other details. —Erin Barajas
