Hurley Fills CEO Post

Jim Calhoun has been named vice president and chief executive officer of Costa Mesa, Calif.–based surf/skate lifestyle brand Hurley. The company, a division of Beaverton, Ore.–based Nike Inc., has not had a chief executive officer since Roger Wyett was named president of affiliates at Nike in February. Now, Calhoun will be reporting to Wyett.

Calhoun does not have action-sports experience but previously worked at Nike to grow the company’s basketball business. Most recently, Calhoun was executive vice president and president of Levi Strauss & Co.’s Dockers brand.

“Jim’s strong experience in consumer products and global brand management and his talent as a merchant will be a great asset to Hurley as we continue to connect with consumers and grow the brand globally,” Wyett said in a statement. “We are delighted to welcome Jim back to the company. He joins a seasoned management team working closely with company founder Bob Hurley, and we look forward to his leadership during this important next chapter of growth for Hurley.” —Erin Barajas
