Earth Day Fashion Show at The Grove

Here's your solution to rising cotton prices and scarce raw materials. Use plants to create your next fashion line.

If you don't believe it's true, just show up at The Grove shopping center off Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles on Friday (April 22), and you'll see.

L.A. designer Yotam Solomon, a regular on the L.A.. runway scene, is showing you don't have to be limited to rayon, cotton, silk or linen to get that collection up and running. He is designing seven pieces made totally out of plants. Each piece will be constructed on site.

The event, at 11 a.m., is in honor of Earth Day and is hosted by Dasani, which has a plant bottle packaging technology with plants making up 30 percent of the bottle.

For those who need a celebrity to draw them to a fashion show, there is actor Matthew Morrison from TV's "Glee" who will be on hand to introduce the event.

So get into your hybrid car and drive on down.
