Stussy x Marvel: A Super-Cool Collaboration
Irvine-based streetwear brand Stussy is taking advantage of its close proximity to Hollywood by teaming with Disney's Marvel Entertainment for two very cool series of T-shirts.
The collections include limited-edition threads designed by celebrated pop artists and hyping classic superheroes from the iconic comic and entertainment brand's vast roster of characters. The strategically timed T-shirt collections include in its mix of nearly 20 characters Thor and Captain America, who are the focus of two upcoming summer blockbusters.
The first collection, called "Stussy x Marvel The Ultimate Teamup," debuted earlier this week with a standard series of nine T-shirts featuring faithful renditions of the comic book icons along with Stussy's famous logo.
On May 7, fashion-forward fans will welcome the release of the "Stussy x Marvel Special Edition Artist Series" featuring nine pop artists' take on the famous crime fighters, which includes illustrations by Ren Stimpy cartoonist John Kricfalusi and renowned L.A. tattoo artist Mark "Mister Cartoon" Machado.
As added enticement, Stussy and Marvel have produced limited-edition trading cards featuring the T-shirt graphics and artist bios that will be given away with each purchase. We're sure these collections will be, um, flying off the shelves.
