Designer Schoolbags Packed With a Philanthropic Edge

For parents who are in the back-to-school mode, this schoolbag is for you.

A San Francisco company, Schoolbags for Kids, has designed a great bag that is colorful yet practical. It's perfect for carrying computers, computer tablets as well as books and supplies. The founders of the company, Luis Garcia and Kalon Gutierrez, also have a philanthropic twist to their company. They donate a bag of school supplies to a child in need for every designer schoolbag purchased.

The idea was developed after Garcia spent four months volunteering at orphanages and schools in developing countries. "A simple pencil to these kids holds so much meaning," Garcia said.

This year's collection, called the Signature Collection, has six different colors and models with five exterior pockets. They go for $54.99.
