O'Neill Looking for Athletic "Icons" and Coming to Cali

Natalie Coughlin sporting O'Neill 365

To promote the launch of its 365 line, O'Neill is taking a road trip with star-athlete Natalie Coughlin in tow.

Coughlin, who could probably manufacture her own line of designer jewelry from Championship and Olympic medals (they total 19!), will be the face under O'Neill's stylish, headphone-equipped "Replay Wired Hoodie," the legs wrapped in its seamless leggings, and the inspiration behind the company's Icons program.

The O'Neill 365 Icons tour will seek out "inspiring" female athletes in the major US cities where the line will be sold. It creates a sort-of paradox: using grassroots tactics to promote a tech-heavy product in a tech-heavy medium. Icons will "contribute to blog content, provide product feedback, and be part of a growing active lifestyle network," noted the Aug. 18 press release.

Both San Francisco and Los Angeles are on the schedule for the Icons tour, confirmed a spokesperson for O'Neill this afternoon, but specific dates won't be made until closer to the product's actual launch in December. In the meantime, start buying up the glitter and glue to make over the family mini-van with your uniform number.
