X-Rite Holds Color Seminars Nationwide

X-Rite Inc., the parent company of Pantone, will host a nationwide one-day color seminar covering the basics of color and appearance, including measuring, viewing and understanding data.

The “Fundamentals of Color and Appearance” seminar will focus on how to evaluate and approve colors. X-Rite’s color experts will use easy-to-understand terms and practical information for a variety of industries, including retail and apparel, graphic arts, packaging, coatings, and textile manufacturing.

Seminars will be held in California, Illinois, Georgia, Michigan and New Jersey in September and October.

The first seminar kicks off on Sept. 22 at the Detroit Metro Airport Marriott in Romshy;ulus, Mich. The next stop is the Courtyard Atlanta Airport North in Hapeville, Ga., on Sept. 27. The California seminar will be held Sept. 29 at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising campus in Irvine.

Seminars are also set for Oct. 6 at the Residence Inn Boston Framingham in Framingham, Mass.; Oct. 13 at the Residence Inn Chicago in Schaumburg, Ill.; and Oct. 25 at the Courtyard Lyndhurst Meadowlands in Lyndhurst, N.J.

The cost to attend is $595, and no prior color training is needed. (The course may qualify as continuing-education credits for certain accreditation programs, according to X-Rite.)

Each attendee will receive an X-Rite “Munsell Interactive Learning Kit,” which includes worksheets, samples and exercises, as well as X-Rite’s “Fundamentals of Color and Appearance” book and a discount voucher for a future X-Rite purchase. There will also be drawings for free quality-assurance software and a Capsure handheld color-matching tool.
