USA-ITA to Discuss Import Challenges With California Companies

Apparel importers face a host of changes this year—including rising cotton prices, a new Congress and new customs initiatives.

All those items will be discussed at a one-day seminar in Los Angeles on Feb. 11 organized by the United States Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel.

The seminars will include talks by Jackie Sprungle, branch chief for textile and apparel policies at U.S. Customs and Border Protection; Janet Fox, director of sourcing at JCPenney; Julie Hughes, president of the USA-ITA and president of International Development Systems; Jon Fee, a customs attorney with Alston + Bird in Washington, D.C.; and Daniel Meylor, customs administration manager of Carmichael International Services in Los Angeles.

The one-day event is being held at the Downtown Marriott Hotel. The cost to attend is $225 for members and $300 for nonmembers.
