Las Vegas Boutique Show Hires Trade Show Veteran

Specialty Trade Shows Inc.—the Coconut Grove, Fla.–based producer of the Women’s Wear in Nevada show, KIDShow, Las Vegas Halloween Show and the International Lingerie Show—hired trade show veteran Sam Starr as show manager for its latest endeavor, the Las Vegas Boutique Show, which is set to launch in September.

Starr had managed the original International Fashion Boutique Show in New York from its biannual infancy as a hotel show to its heyday as the five-times-per-year trade show held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. After show owner Larkin Group sold the show in 1999 to Advanstar Communications Inc., owner of the MAGIC Marketplace, Starr joined Business Journals Inc. to run its FAME show in New York.

The new Las Vegas Boutique Show will target boutique retailers with a wide-ranging mix of merchandise that will include apparel, jewelry and accessories, as well as niche items such as motorcycle gear, body jewelry and smoking accessories.

The show will bow at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in the Brasilia Room alongside the International Lingerie Show during its Sept. 19–21 run.

For information about the new show, call Starr at (615) 732-9991 or e-mail sam@spectrade.com. For more information about Specialty Trade Show events, visit www.spectrade.com.—Alison A. Nieder
