And the Grammy for Fashion...

With the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards becoming a hazy memory (Now, who did win the Grammy for “Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package?!?) the Recording Academy turned its mind to fashion.

On Feb. 16 it unveiled the Grammy Label clothing line at a party at Ron Robinson boutique at Fred Segal on Melrose Ave.(The party was the official launch for the Recording Academy’s fashion venture. A few years ago, the academy experimented with another fashion line which never went beyond the soft launch stage, according to Grammy representatives.)

The contemporary collection for men and women offers handknit sweaters with a Kurt Cobain edge, voile button down shirts for your inner James Taylor or Joni Mitchell, twill pants, distressed T -shirts, all said to be perfect for that music festival experience.

Retail price points range from $80 to $300. A portion of the line’s proceeds will go to Grammy non-profits such as Grammy Museum, The Grammy Foundation and MusiCares.Big question. Would Justin Bieber wear it? I know, cheesy joke.
