JCPenney Adopts New Logo

Plano, Texas–based department store JCPenney has freshened its look. Described as “the most meaningful update to the company’s logo in 40 years,” the new logo pays homage to the retailer’s history while looking to the future with a modern, new look. The company sought submissions for its new logo from several design agencies and two art schools, the University of Cincinnati and Rhode Island School of Design. The winning design was created by Luke Langhus, a third-year graphic-design student at the University of Cincinnati.
