Deidre Crawford Joins California Apparel News

Deidre Crawford has joined California Apparel News as manufacturing editor.A longtime free-lance journalist and photographer, Crawford most recently served as contributing web reporter for KPCC Public Radio. Her work has appeared in Foam magazine, LA Weekly and The Huffington Post.

While earning her master’s degree in print journalism from the University of Southern California, Crawford served as a daily staff reporter for The Cape Times in Cape Town, South Africa; senior producer for “Impact,” the University of Southern California’s award-winning television show that produces documentary news stories; and senior web editor covering arts and culture for Annenberg Digital News, USC’s online news website. She wrote her thesis on Cape Town’s growing fashion community.

Originally from Seattle, Crawford served as committee chair for education and outreach for Human Rights Watch in San Francisco and currently is a member of the Costume Council at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
