Beach Bunny Swimwear Hops to It With Loungewear Line

Irvine, Calif.–based Beach Bunny Swimwear has debuted Beach Bunny Lounge, a collection of hoodies, tanks, low-rise knit pants, dresses and cropped T-shirts.

Like its swimwear, Beach Bunny’s loungewear offers a sexy take on staples. Tops feature off-the-shoulder, tummy-bearing silhouettes and lace backs. There are unlined pants cut from lace, mini-dresses and tunics, and pants feature ruching on the back and oversized satin sashes.

The collection, which will have four seasons per year, will wholesale for $29 to $67 and targets upscale, independent retailers.

“It is super-feminine and flirty. It’s a new, fun take on the Juicy tracksuit,” said designer Angela Chittenden.

The brand, which is also launching a line of bridal swimwear, has plans to expand its retail operations. Currently, Beach Bunny has four retail locations, including stores in Newport Beach, Calif., and Scottsdale, Ariz., and on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles, with two more stores planned for 2011. “The focus is on being a lifestyle brand versus just a swim brand,” Chittenden said, adding that Beach Bunny’s new collections and retail expansion go hand-in-hand.

Additionally, Beach Bunny Lounge has the potential to reach a wider demographic of shoppers and retailers. “Lounge has a wider reach than our swimwear. It appeals to more body types and more ages,” Chittenden said.
