Los Angeles Fashion Week: Lavuk

“Infinity” was the theme of Lavuk designer Natasha Gindin’s latestcollection, which bowed on March 11 at Concept Los Angeles Fashion Weekat Ace Gallery in Los Angeles.

Gindin used eco-friendly fabrics including organic cotton and hemp withhand-dyed silk and other fabrics to create her collection, which wasembellished with custom hardware made from recycled pewter. The designeralso sourced end-run, high-end fabrics to create limited-editionpieces. “I like to use something already produced,” she said.

The collection included tailored coats and shirt dresses, as well as more casual pieces.

Highlights included coats in bright shades of red and purple. Acolor-blocked coat in black and gray was another standout. When Gindinshowed neutral pieces, she included a pop of color. And several piecesfeatured cutouts so the wearer could layer over other items to createtheir own colorblocking. —Alison A. Nieder
