Los Angeles Fashion Week: Project Ethos Showcases Emerging Designers

It was a raucous crowd of more than 2,000 people who packed the Avalon nightclub in Hollywood to see Frederick’s of Hollywood and seven emerging designers display their creations on March 12.

The young designers were led by Project Runway winner Seth Aaron Henderson, who displayed a colorful collection of Fall 2011 looks that included high-waisted red pants accented with a clean-looking black bolero jacket. The Spanish-influenced outfit was topped with a black Spanish hat. Henderson also made ample use of black-and-white houndstooth fabric for dresses, skirts and accessories.

Frederick’s of Hollywood spiced up the evening with skimpy and colorful bikinis replete with their fair share of bling. Sunglasses had to be worn to see the red rhinestone-encrusted suit that dazzled under the runway lights.

Cardiwrap by Kymaro showed how you can take a wrap and twist its cardigans in dozens of ways to create sophisticated and elegant looks or simply use it as a regular wrap.

Other labels on the runway were Melissa Velia, Renetaj, Age of Aquarius, Ermelinda and Dominique Ansari. —Deborah Belgum
