Bowing Out With Grace

Hi Everybody!

Elimination night no. 8 opened with a hot, saucy! and sexy! performance by the female pros to Jordan Sparks’ anthem “I Am Woman.” All female dancers shaking and shimming in fringe. WOW!

Then we were entertained by the Dance Center analysis consisting of Len Goodman and former contestants Jerry Rice and Kenny. They took a few liberties against the current contestants with jokes and film clips—including a quip that Rob Kardashian’s stint on the show lasted longer than his sister, Kim’s marriage. Kind of funny. This continued throughout the show.

We were then entertained by the smooth (classically trained) vocals of Andrea Bocelli singing “More” from his current album “Concerto” with backup from the jazz trumpeter Chris Botti. Also, hip hop rapper Flo Rida (He’s from Florida. Get it?) performed his hit “Good Feeling.”

The Macy’s Stars of Dance performance was a tribute to none other than the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson by Cirque du Soleil’s stage show Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour. They did original choreography from Michael Jackson's videos “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean.” How apropos—considering the courts recent decision on the Michael Jackson case. Looks like this is a Hot! show. Can’t wait to see it.

Then they began to announce the couples that were definitely going to be in the semi finals. Of course, no doubt about it, J.R and Karina were safe. Surprising, so was Hope and Maks. (I guess that damage control worked!)

But it left Rob and Cheryl in jeopardy. The remaining couples up for elimination were Nancy and Tristan and Ricki and Derek—can you guess who was safe?

In the end, Nancy and Tristan were eliminated. (JUMP FOR JOY!) Like Len Goodman said, (and I paraphrase), she was Cinderella at the ball, she got a chance to dance. But midnight has struck and it’s time for you to go HOME!

Oh, snap. I so agree. Bye-bye, Birdie!

Until next week’s semi-finals, keep on dancing!
